1. Blueberries
Naturally occurring antioxidants can be found in these highly potent, sweet little berries.
Using a test called ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity), researchers have shown that a serving of fresh blueberries provides more antioxidant activity than many other fresh fruits and vegetables.
2. Turmeric
This indian spice is primarily used in eastern recipes as a flavor and colorant. Although it is known to most westerners as a spice, it is little known for it's highly potent medicinal antioxidant characteristics. Turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries to treat conditions ranging from arthritis to cancer.
3. Goji Berries
Goji berries have been in the spotlight now for some time as one of the modern food trends. They actually have a lot going for them with high levels of antioxidants, 4 unique polysaccharides and also essential minerals and amino acids that the body needs. On top of this, Goji berries have a distinct flavor and are delicious when coated in chocolate.
4. Tomatoes

Tomatoes contain lycopene, a relatively rare member of the carotenoid family, also found in pink grapefruit and twice as powerful as beta-carotene. One of the primary antioxidants contained in tomatoes is glutathione which is helpful in building immune function.
5. Green Tea... Black Tea?
Both green and black tea has now been proven as a highly rich antioxidant beverage. It is now proven that tea can reduce the risk of cancers, heart disease and stroke with positive effects in preventing a number of degenerative diseases.
So enjoy your antioxidants well. Don't have them all mixed up together but get as much of each one as you can and your well on your way to a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
